Taryn and I are both HUGE fans of Fitz And The Tantrums. Once we found out that they were playing in Peoria, it was a done deal! We planned a small, extended weekend trip to Peoria to see the show. We visited a number of amazing places (The 50's Diner, The Spotted Cow, Par-A-Dice) and had a great time. But! The biggest memory of all was standing front row at the show. Throughout the concert, we were directly sung at and received glances from the band.
AJR opened the show. Neither of us knew of them until we heard them play. At that point, we looked at each other and agreed that we heard a song or two from them. At that point, we were hooked as fans. Done deal. AJR was energetic, entertaining and rocked it hard! "We're caught up in drama..."
It was a really incredible experience for us. At one point Fitz wanted EVERYONE to dance and even called Taryn out on it. It was really quite comical ("Nuh-Uh, You better dance if you're in the front row!"). Many many memories! At the end of the show, one of the crew even handed Taryn a set list. And, at that point, we HAD to buy a signed posted to complete the collection. All I can say is: They can make your hands clap!
P.S: We'd have more Fitz pictures, but we jammed too hard to take them! The amount of engagement with the band was UNREAL!
