CBS - 2017-10-16 (Week 7)

Thankfully, this will be the last entry in regards to bowling on the WTBA Rome pattern.  This week can be summarized with three bullet points

  • Pick up your damn spares
  • Learn how to get to a breakpoint.  Having a target at the dots or elsewhere is nice, but where the ball breaks is KEY
  • Learn to adjust during breakdown and focus.  Losing focus kills
  • BONUS TIP: Keep up the energy levels

Next week will be brought to you by the WTBA LA pattern.  See ya then!

CBS - 2017-10-09 (Week 6)

This weeks adventure played similar to the first week, lots of struggles with trying to best understand how to play the pattern.  I noticed that some lofted, while others played more outside.  I'd played this typical to the book, but my reaction just wan't that great.  I played just about the same as week five, but with the results of week four.  Game one played as I would expect it to, extremely tight.  I held the middle pretty well, but failed to really understand how to navigate thereforward.  I feel like I need to learn to adjust in different ways that I haven't been tought or experienc

The WTBA Rome is one of the longest patterns that I have bowled on to date.  At 45' long, there isn't much room for the breakpoint, given there is only 15' left to the pin deck.  Playing tight angles and playing in the middle will typically lead to the most success.  This proved to be a struggle in game one, which later opened up to much success in games two and three.  Albeit, I need to pick up easy spares, which really killed game three.  My biggest issue is trying to find a way to pull in my breakpoint from that usual 8 to 10 board point.  Given that this pattern is 45', the breakpoint w
