Kegel Dead Man's Curve

"DEAD MAN'S CURVE - 3043 This 43 foot pattern has more out of bounds than most patterns because of the increased application of conditioner on the forward pass. With a slight increase slope of oil from the 10th board to the 15th board on the return pass, the goal of the player is to target along those boards of extra conditioner without swinging the ball too much towards the outside part of the lane. Players who try to excessively curve the ball with too much speed will find DEAD MAN'S CURVE hazardous to their score."

Dead Man's Curve...does it hook a lot?  Not really.  Is it challenging?  Yes!  Even with a fairly strong, versatile bowling ball aresnal, I am challenged.  And sometimes it's ball choice.  Sometimes it's spares.  And sometimes it's both.  How many times have I said spares are important?  Way too many.  How many times have I said hit your target?  Way too many.  Given this, let's dig in.

Fox Bowl - 2017-04-12

Tonight's outing was practiced on the Kegel Dead Man's Curve.  My outing occurred later in the day so the pattern was somewhere between transitioning and burnt.  I struggled through practice and the first two games, playing too far outside for the pattern's composition.  After giving up on playing the usual locations between 5 and 12, I moved way in which led to the best results.  Both the Phaze II and the No Rules Pearl were used, but ultimately the No Rules Pearl was the go to.
