Kegel Winding Road

"WINDING ROAD - 2839 | This oil pattern uses a distance of 39 feet with very little downlane help to guide the ball into the pocket. Because of the lower ratios towards the end of pattern, the greatest factor on how the WINDING ROAD will play is the lane surface and how the bowlers breakdown the pattern. The WINDING ROAD could play more inside or it could play more outside but the player who figures it out will straighten out the WINDING ROAD!"

SSE - 2017-08-09 (Week 14)

The Winding Road can be quite challenging during the breakdown phase of game two and game three.  The first game played quite well and was easy to figure out.  A couple bad breaks kept me from stringing some strikes together.  Once the transition settled, I struggled to find a proper home, relying on spares to stay alive.

SSE - 2017-08-02 (Week 13)

Taryn and I are taking our vacation week to relax and unwind, so while she was in class I pre-bowled this week.  Bowling on shorter patterns tends to be easier since you can play similar to a house shot.  The Winding Road played very similarly to how I expected it to.  At 39' in length, I stood at 20 and had a target of about 8 at the dots.  This proved to be the best way to attack the pattern, except for the numerous times the lanes provided little to no love.
